On the road.
This is just an experiment of mine, I went out to wander the streets of Oakbank to take pictures of interesting things, but none were found. I then turned my head downwards to see the road and the cracks and gooey filler that holds them together. I actually found these to be quite interesting, and the fact that they were are imperfections that we have tried to fix made it even more interesting. These were not intended to be beautiful or artistic when weathering broke apart the road, or when the workers filled the cracks. I hope you see a few shots that peak your interest or can appreciate the artisticness of this project, or maybe you can appreciate the complete and utter randomness.
Tell me, what is your favorite shot? (just number it from the top, being 1)

Matt, number 3 looks like a the fingerboard of a bass with a bow on it. Pretty cool.
on the outside you would look like some kid that took pictures of random shit and called it art. but i can see what you are saying. the world is full of art and beauty, usually you don't have to look for it because it is right there in front of you, other times when you do look for it, it is still right in front of you without realizing it.
the world should be appreciated for the smaller things.
if i saw you alone on the street shooting the ground with your camera, i think i'd laugh. pretty neat thinking though.
very cool. i like them all! each one gives different perspective an leaves you to your own imagination. Whether it looks like a beaten road or maybe a long river on barren land!
They kind of look like the modern, industrial version of ancient cave-paintings. I like 'em. Whatever are you going to do when you move to Winnipeg, you'll have no small-town inspiration!
i could'nt choose a favorite but i like 4, 8, 11, and 17
you have a really neat eye on things, its interesting.
i like 13. its harder to place what it is than the others - so you look at it for the composition, shape and color rather than just identifying it as just an old piece of sidewalk. nice project.
Only you Matt, could find beauty in retarded cracks on the streets of Oakbank. - Ross.....mancer
